People calling my country, singapore living in the dark age

People calling my country, singapore living in the dark age =/?
They do not understand it... The reason for death penalty is when someone did grave crime like murder. They should atone with their life. Some said they should be given life long jailing but that is more painful and suffering than death. What is your opinion? by the way.. long live Singapore ♥♥♥

there are states in the US where the death penalty still stands.

Why are we in the dark ages? We are - we have a dark president....

No justice system is perfect. Errors are sometimes made, and if an innocent person is executed there is no way that person can be compensated. That is one of the main reasons the death penalty is on its way out in all developed countries. In Europe there is only one country that still carries out executions.

Having the death penalty doesn't mean that you are in the dark ages and whoever states so is wrong. The US has several states which still have the death penalty and there is other countries that have similar things as well. A lot of people do not have any idea what Singapore actually is at all, the economy, the people, the way of life. We moved to Singapore years ago and one brother in law honestly thought we were moving to a third world country. I almost died with laughter when he said that because honestly that meant he didn't pay attention to geography and history.

I have been to Singapore many times and it is way ahead of LA which is where I am from. Many fellow Americans have no clue but still think Singapore is a backward place. You guys are already living in Utopia. If death penalty is your way of deterring violent crimes and drug problems, so be it.

Just see which country is more in order... Who has greater Drug problems? Who has High school shooting several times a year? Which country has their Presidents being assinated on several occasion? Enough said, thank you.
