What is it like for a Filipino to live in Singapore

What is it like for a Filipino to live in Singapore?
I'm Filipino and was born in the United States. I want to know what it is like to live in Singapore. Do I need to know how to speak the language? Are there many Filipinos there? Will the people there accept me being Filipino and an American? Also, what do you like and dislike about Singapore?

you don't have to speak their language... almost everybody here speaks english, only you have to get used to their pronounciation.. to understand what their saying well. but don't worry it will only take you a month or so. it is easy living here.. although the cost of living is much much more expensive than in the Philippines, for example, it will cost you about SGD1500 a month for a 2-room flat rental. transportation is good.. food is GREAT! people are nice and very hardworking.. ofcourse they will accept you as you are. i've been staying here for almost 3 years now, so far i haven't felt any discrimination or whatsover yet. what i could say is just be yourself.. no matter in what country you are or what country you are from, it's your personality that really matters.. do good to others, others will do good to you.

Living in Singapore is like living in any Asian countries. A multiracial society, english is the common language used. There are many Filipinos here and to really see them, you may want to visit orchard road on sundays. i have close friends who are Filipinos too. The best thing about this country is, that u can feel safe ALMOST all the time. The least best thing about the beautiful city-state (to me) is that she doesnt have nice, natural beaches.

singapore is an english speaking country lah. besides you can stay up late and walk in streets without being robbed or something. that is why not only filipinos are getting enjoyed and starting to love this country but also caucasians really love to live here. yeah if you want to see filipinos domestic helpers go to lucky plaza on sundays.but i'd definitely not to. not all filipinos are going there only those who are you know.not to mention.
