My inlaws who live in Singapore have asked their son to attend the funeral of their friend

My inlaws who live in Singapore have asked their son to attend the funeral of their friend...?
He doesn't know the person that died or his wife.. the idea makes him very uncomfortable, I have met them both once but wouldn't feel comfortable going either do you think its fair?

Both of you are just immature. Funerals are part of living in society. If O Harry dies and there is a state funeral. Would you feel the same? After all both you aren't his acquaintance except what you heard about him on TV and newspapers. Its also the brain-washing that goes in Christian circles. Attending funeral wakes of pagans is like praying to idols or dead people. You can just go there, make a bow as token of your respects.
