yes if you dont spend it lavishly... its a matter of mindset. general workers are getting way less than this amount and they are surviving well.

depends where do u stay.. for example, the cost of the place where u stay is $1600 monthly [in a condo], u still have $30 a day to eat i think i will be enough if u stay in other people's place, like renting a room, despite if u stay in a condo, studio apartment, HDB or hostel. it also depends to your lifestyles..

Yes, if you only need to support yourself and not anyone else besides you. I guess u have to handle your money well or you might be finding yourself short of cash. Actually there are many cheap hostels and apartments out for rent at low prices. Hawker centres offer local cuisine at very affordable prices and there are many of them scattered around Singapore. Some famous ones include newton hawkercentre and old airport road hawker centre just to name a few. You can even dine at expensive restaurants once in a while and still get by quite decently :)

yes, if you budget wisely, its enough. If you spend lavishly, then it will never be enough, like what the movie said: "MONEY NO ENOUGH".

I think you can rent a room (not a hotel/hostel room) for about $400 and up. Food here costs about $2-$3 for rice, one meat and 2 vegetable dishes on average; enough to fill someone up. If you buy your own groceries, it would very likely cost less. Of course, buying from a wet market or "cheaper" supermarkets would help you save money too - these include Sheng Siong Supermarket and NTUC supermarket. (Place like Cold Storage or Liberty Supermarket have prices that are slightly marked up.) Transport depends on how much travelling you plan on doing. For short distances, it costs about $0.70, but for long distances it can cost up to $2. For example, from the North-East side of Singapore to the West side costs about $2.50 by bus altogether, one-way. So in a month, that would cost $150. Other miscellaneous items, if bought at areas around housing estates can be rather cheap. Knock-off goods can also be found there.

Yes, can live in the suburban estates and live comfortably with 3 decent meals, occasionally spending on a feast at a restaurant. Make sure that rental is below $400.

People do. Families in public subsidized housing live on incomes of even under S$1500 per month. At that level, a number of Government support initiatives kick in.

if you don't have a car, stay i a small flat,no girlfriend to feed, you can survive on 1,800 dollars and still have the balance

singapore is a place where you cant really save.. if your a foreignor.. better dont come for a low salary like $2500.. if your local, sure the government will take care.. with lotsa subsidies and schemes.. considered poor here if income lesser than $1500.. so, add up another $1000 is your pay.. so not good thing to be here with that less money.. really, take my advice.. dont come and end up suffering here..
