Looking up the laws in Singapore, it does have a pretty harsh system. It also is a bit ambiguos - it doesn't seem to seperate non-profit and commercial nor between downloading and uploading ( even though in the law it's supposed to be for comercial uploading, the enforcement doesn't seem to care ). Instead, there are cases ( many old, but you never know ) where typical people have been arrested, fined ( upwards 60000USD ) and jailed ( for upwards of 5 years ) for sharing 20000 songs ( or any number of substantial songs ). While it seems that the ISPs in Singapore are trying to fight back, I'd still be cautious. Granted the Recording Industry of Singapore (RIAS, like RIAA) doesn't oversee most metal artists, I wonder if it will matter to them. Ah, the price of free trade with the Unitied States.
