Can Singapore Permanent Resident Live in the US?
I am a Chinese citizen and Singapore permanent resident, if I want to go to work in the US, do I need apply for anything?

I have a co-worker who is from Singapore, he has lived and worked in the U.S. for several years. If this guy is representative of people from Singapore, we'll take more of them.

Yes, you will need to apply foreither a Green Card or a H1B visa. Your permanent residency status in Singapore will not be of any help, nor would a proper singaporean citizenship.

Even citizens of countries who do not need a visa to enter the US need to apply for residency, which is a long process. You will need to apply for an H1B visa (work). To get this, you will need an American company to sponsor you. It will take years.
