Frankly, based on current market, your main expenses will be on rental. Renting a whole private apartment may cost you S$2500 to S$5000 per month. Alternatively, you may consider a HDB flat, where you will be able to get it at S$1200 to S$2000 for a 2 bedrooms flat. Or you can also just rent a room, which should cost you only S$400 to S$600. You should also cater for about S$20 daily for foods and transportation.

Based on current market, here are the following: Rental: Full Condo/ HDB (4/5 room) apartment: S$2k-5k HDB (2-room apartment): S$1k-2k HDB (rent a room): S$300-700 MRT transport: S$3-6 (go and return a day) Food: S$15-20 (hawker food, daily 3 meals) So you should have a minimum pay of roughly S$2k-3k to cover for your rents, neccesities and miscellaneous. But taking into account you have to work 6 days a week full time and there's little relaxation or enjoyment.

Hahaha... First S is really funny... Rent in Singapore can be anywhere between S$400~S$11.5K depending on location, size & type of apartment. Of course S$400 will only get you a bedroom with shared bathroom, kitchen etc. Public transport is rather cheap compared to Japan, where I'm residing now. It shouldn't cost you more than S$2.5 oneway. Dun quote me though, as the last time I've been on one of those thing was more than a decade ago. Food is cheap in Singapore. You can get a decent meal at a hawker centre for about S$5, give & take. As for how much the min pay should be, I guess that pretty much depends on your lifestyle and your definition of 'comfortable living'. If you're down to earth, doesn't go clubbing or partying much, I'd say S$2~2.5K/mth should be enough. But then again, I have friends making S$3~4K/mth finding it hard to save money... And they're single and living with their parents! Meaning they dun have to pay for rent! They waste their money on clubs and fancy wheels and when I ask them why, they told me that those are the only ways they know how to 'distract' themselves from the mundane everyday seemingly meaningless way of life. Ha! talk about living the Singapore dream.
